Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained so it can be answered. We keep that correspondence within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may receive basic technical and usage details:
- Page-view dates and times
- Visited pages and the length of a visit
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The referring site, when available
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help aggregate traffic patterns, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and usage data supports a limited set of operational purposes:
- Route a search request to the selected partner
- Maintain reliable and efficient site operation
- Find and correct technical problems
- Understand which content receives useful traffic
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Panola County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies official channels operated by the Panola County Sheriff's Office, the county clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the site's search boxes. Their own privacy terms govern submitted data, retention, and disclosure practices. We do not control those practices, so review the applicable partner policy before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Panola County offices, Texas agencies, court portals, legal resources, and third-party tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's policy controls the visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select ads. Their tracking is not operated by us.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers measuring use and performance
- Search partners processing a query selected by the visitor
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide rights concerning personal data. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code chapter 552, governs access to records held by Texas governmental bodies, not private-site visitor data. Government Code sections 411.083 and 411.135 separately control confidentiality and statutory public access for TxDPS criminal-history information. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Ask what personal information is held
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Seek deletion where the law permits
- Opt out of eligible forms of processing
