Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of Panola County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search feature indicates acceptance of the conditions below. They address lawful use, ownership, outside links, limits on liability, and the site's status as a private reference resource rather than a government body or consumer reporting agency. Official Panola County or Texas records must still come from the office that holds them. A person who does not agree with these conditions should discontinue use of the site.

NO FCRA USE. Panola County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a local, Texas, or federal government body. Neither this site nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or another purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This is not a private-investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of every government office. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files documents for a user.

Its content identifies the offices that maintain Panola County records, including the Sheriff's Office, District Clerk, County Clerk, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to outside search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on the following restrictions:

  • Do not stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass another person
  • Do not use the content for an FCRA-regulated decision
  • Do not attempt unauthorized access to a system or account
  • Do not deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
  • Do not interfere with site performance or another person's access
  • Do not violate federal, Texas, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate. The rule is especially important for the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 62.005 warns that misuse of public registry information can lead to criminal prosecution or civil liability. Registry data supports lawful public-safety awareness, not vigilantism.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, consumer reports, or official background checks. Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Make a credit or lending decision
  • Set insurance eligibility or premiums
  • Evaluate a person for employment
  • Evaluate a person for housing
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A legally compliant report for a regulated purpose must come from an authorized official process or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider, not from this site.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to an individual matter. Seek advice from a licensed Texas attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

The site and its content are supplied "as is." No guarantee is made that:

  • A partner's search results will be complete or accurate
  • Content will always be current, complete, or correct
  • Pages will be free from errors or security defects
  • The service will remain available without interruption

Charges may be filed or dismissed, and records may be corrected, restricted, or expunged. Gaps and delays are unavoidable. No site content is an official statement by a court, sheriff, or Texas agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to Panola County offices, Texas agencies, courts, legal resources, and outside search services. Those destinations are not under our control. We are not responsible for their availability, prices, data practices, terms, or content.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Panola County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, distributed, changed, or used to make derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damage arising from use of the site, its content, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from claims, proceedings, or demands caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Texas. Official Panola County record access remains subject to the Texas Public Information Act, while TxDPS criminal-history dissemination follows Government Code chapter 411.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected provision will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
